Why Is World Anti-Corruption Day important?


Β In simple terms, corruption occurs when a person misuses his or her authority for personal benefit, at the expense of other people.Β 


Corruption brings unfairness, crookedness, and, in more serious cases, can even harm lives and property.


Β It slows down economic growth and makes governments unstable.Β 
The United Nations observes , December 9th as International Anti-Corruption Day to create awareness of the need to fight corruption at every level.
