A Secret to Happiness

A Secret to Happiness

It has always been a dominating world in which we live. Earlier it used to be a male dominating world where women were treated pathetically and now as we see the growing society around us, so we realize that now it is the world of rich people. Today mediocrity or lower class people are not that respected and recognized as the rich ones are. It is the world of materialistic things today and in fact, every individual is crazy about materialistic possessions. Rolls-Royce cars, custom built yachts, five-star hotels mansions, private jets, exquisite jewelry, glamour, style, panache etc. Oh, how these wealthy barons and beneficiaries must roll in ecstasy! What heights of fulfillment and satisfaction they must have attained?
Ecstasy can be achieved for seconds but fulfillment and satisfaction can never come so easy. And obviously, the moments of self -worship and grandiosity can never consist of real happiness or anything even a bit close to it. Or it is a hoax- a deception-like the gold millions of infatuated people collected in South Africa, in the 1900s? The gold they wanted to achieve ultimately turned out to be a fool’s gold.
It has become a common notion that if a person is financially poorer then he is definitely psychologically poorer. That’s not actually the real case is. It is really arrogant to think like that. You can never judge the potential of a person based on the amount of money he or she earns. Though intelligence is somewhere directly proportional to the income of any person. But still, they are not totally dependent on each other. Poverty is not much an economic condition than the mental one. Riches are more to do with appreciating fully what one already possesses and that which is irreplaceable. Suppose if we take an example if in case our house catches fire then instead of collecting certain things like family photographs, some special gifts etc. we will go for saving money. Despite knowing the fact that those photographs can never be cherished again even if we use any money amount. We have become so a practical person that we have stopped caring for emotions. Real opulence can never be empty though it is fully carved of gold. True riches obviously consists of a cradle with a baby bouncing who is set to change the world even if it lies the wooden one. Obviously, love is the hallway or mark of happiness. Not clothes, not cars, not 5-star hotels nor anything else money can buy. Just love. Nothing more, nothing less. Love says it all, does it all, fits it all. The heart, minds, and soul all things are filled up because of love. Happiness doesn’t come only to the reach people but it comes to all those who know how to extract the real happiness in its true sense. It is the only thing that has been reserved equally for all by God. The number of friends or acquaintances you have is of little account. What actually matters is their quality. Even if you have one a person one can be oneself with, a person one can really trust with his secrets is more than enough.
In the final analysis, it has been found that people with more and more wealth are also not happy. They are wanting to be loved and gain a real kind of happiness. They have all the money and have taken a long route to it. But eventually, they want to love. Their stardom itself isolates them from the very people they once dreamed of being intimate with. They live in continuous fear and anxiety and always try to flee from their fans. The gates of heaven open up to hell!! Performing has become their lifeblood, for they know no other way of being loved. They feel unloved unless they keep proving it and again reproving it, not to the audience but to themselves by demonstrating before a large crowd their lovableness! Overblown riches or fame usually become an obstruction to the experience of love. The sight of material opulence seduces the unwitting, star-struck adolescent to the false philosophy that an increase in the quantity of wealth, possessions, acquaintances and fans means a corresponding in the happiness. Thus the generation needs to understand that the happiness that we are trying to seek from materialistic things is temporary and is of no further use. Actually, our most important possession is the feeling of love and care which we gain and we shed onto others.

Feminism- A conventional thinking

Feminism- A conventional thinking

The word feminism is no longer continuing with its real meaning and effect. It has more become conventional thinking than just a perspective. Most of the people who have just become a feminist because of the trend as according to them being a feminist is the symbol of being in a cultured society. Though the word holds that reputation. But most people are now using it as a weapon against men. They do not even want the real meaning of it to get into their minds.
The concept of feminism was basically encouraged so as to empower women so that they might get out of their homes as men do. Earlier when women were not treated as equal to men and also had no rights to do anything of their desires. Then there emerged the need for being a feminist. In the former period in the rural part of the country, women had no right to take their decisions, they were not given proper education, the daughters were abused and were married to any random person with a dowry. Despite the fact that the dowry amount is given to the groom, he still tries to suppress his wife. He wants more and more money to satisfy greed. Women were not secured that every time and it was the duty of the people in the nation to overcome this problem. Thus the feminism was supported so as to provide these women with their rights. It is not any trend to be followed but nothing can be said if people took it as a weapon to resolve their personal issues. Yet at the metropolitan cities, the condition of women was not so poor that they need feminism to stand by their side.
Moreover, the rape cases which are not yet under control endangers women. The threat of being raped haunts every girl in the country. She is not yet so safe. But to support and come out of this feminism is not needed but the right upbringing for the children and the new strict laws are needed. Feminism doesn’t make crime less. It is just a social perspective to respect women and provide them with equal rights.
Feminism was used as a weapon in many places. The #me to movement can be a very good example of this where actually some those people were punished and their dignity was endangered who had no involvement in that. Though feminism is a good concept to provide women of the country strength and their rights everything that leads to degradation should be stopped.
Feminism is becoming a misconception and also regarded as a new way to praise women against women. Feminism used to be a good concept in the places where women were treated badly and they needed support. But in the places where women are given already equal importance then they are not supposed to be treated superior. Men are not to be felt inferior. In many parts of the country, there used to be women in great threat and were treated so inferior to men. This is still a problem in many places. And to provide encouragement and empowerment of those women the feminism was promoted. But it has now converted into a standard and because of this men are suffering in many fields. The feminism was to provide women with equal rights. And all those who support feminism at stake of treating men inferior are basically the social misfits. The need of society is to be understood correctly not on the basis of gender. To stop gender biasing there was the concept of feminism and now if it continued then we will surely be wanting a standard to support men too. This will make no end to gender inequality.

Defeat your depression

Defeat your depression

The word stress used to a purely engineering and technology-based term. It actually signified how much force, pressure or tensile stress can any object could bear without losing its real identity. But as time goes it has become now more a medical term than the engineering one. It refers to the effects on the human body of the other things in the surrounding such as work pressure, weather, heat, noise, pollution, traffic, financial problems, jobs, interviews , presentations, demands for one’s time and attention, disagreements, loss of loved ones, in combination with psychological problems like defeatist, negative and irrational thinking. These problems are the day to day occurrences in general human life. It ultimately results to many other scenarios like deep-seated anxiety, tension and depression on the psychological front and frequent cold, flu, viral and bacterial infections, high blood pressure, increased heart rate and the onset of cardiovascular disease on the physiological front. The problems described here are so acute that according to the data two third of the working days are lost either directly or indirectly because of the stress that builds inside a person. The pressure of work at places and also the demands to achieve ever and ever tougher goals has burdened every individual to the level that any average office-goer works three times as hard for only twice the pay that used to be given twenty years back. An example may be the coming generation, our children. They are struggling hard. The weight and the number of books they carry with them to school today are almost five times what children used to carry decades ago. This is really shocking to come across that psychiatrists have lately begun to notice the symptoms of depression in these children too. And again it is indeed really sad to know that even unborn babies in the womb of pregnant and depressed women are born with initial symptoms of depression too.
Today is the age which is not of the space shuttle but of great stress. The stress that is getting spread is not any bacterial, viral or physical at its root but it is based on the societal and psychical issues. These issues not only leads to the depression of any individual but makes other people in the family or surrounding depressed ones. Moreover, small children, they are in the race to follow the trend. Following the trend of being cool, they adopt bad habits and rehabilitation is also not their cup of tea. Thus for them, it ultimately leads to depression and they are not able to cope up with it even. Most of the infections like high blood pressure and arterial blockages are symptomatic. This cannot be overstressed too. The stress has developed out of irrational and rush for material pleasures and success with millions of people ending their race without the true gold but with the Fool’s Gold. But actually, the concept is the driving force of ignorance is ignorance itself. There is not a single reason enough to justify the cause of depression so far. There are many interconnected causes leading to depression. Above all is the materialistic wants and desires. Every person in the race of achieving something forgets his inner self and by the time he realizes the actual need the time has already passed on. There is a great difference between a human’s need and greed. What actually we want to survive happily is the need and the desires for the materialistic things is our greed. Greed is a feeling that can never be satisfied. But we in the long run of satisfying our inner greed keep on running and loses our health and psychological imbalance too.
Those people who are so rich they are also a part of the depressed percentage of people. They are also not happy though they have all those materialistic possessions where they lack is their inner peace. They have unlimited wealth, fame and status etc. They are also adored by millions of people across the world. Yet they throw away their own lives. The fact lies here that until you love yourself, approve of yourself, endorse and also affirm yourself, no money, wealth or material can lift you out of that phase of depression. Learn to love yourself for what you are and to the place wherever you belong you owe that place as you have earned it. Understanding this truth and loving it and also living it is the royal road to uprooting depression and averting down its all the consequences.

What are you a carrot, egg or coffee?

What are you a carrot, egg or coffee?

A woman in her early 20s went to mother and she told her about life and how things are turning hard to her each every day. She had no idea how she will be taking her life forward, she was tired of struggling and fighting and all that she was able to think off was giving up on life.
It seemed to her that once her one problem was getting solved new one was waiting to jump into her life. Mother took her to the kitchen where she filled three of the water boiling pots and placed them on high flame. Soon the pots started to boil. In one of the pots she placed carrot, one had eggs and the last one had coffee beans. She didn’t utter a single word and kept on boiling the pots. Around thirty minutes, she switched off the flame and took about carrot kept them in a bowl followed up by eggs and placed it in another bowl. Then she poured the coffee out placed it in a cup. She asked her daughter to tell what is visible to her.
Eggs, carrot, and coffee as she replied in a confused tone. The mother came closer to her and asked her to touch the carrots and feel it to which she felt the softness of carrot. She asked to take out the egg from the bowl and break it. She did as she was asked and pulling off eggshell she observed the boiled egg. At last, she took a coffee sip and smiled as she tasted the richness of the coffee. The daughter then asked why her mother was asking her to do all this.
The mother explained to her daughter that each of the objects went through the same adversity which was boiling water, but each had a different reaction to this situation. The carrot was strong at first, but turned out to soften, becoming weak at the end.
About the egg it was fragile at first then thin shell was giving it the required protection, but under boiling water, the inside of the egg turned hard. The ground coffee beans changed the water taste and giving it its aroma.
Her mother then asked her which one out of these three are you? When the hardships will knock your door, how are you going to react like a carrot, a coffee bean or an egg?
This is for you to think now, are you that carrot who seems to be hard, but once it goes inside the trouble melts down and lose all the strength that it has or the egg that is malleable on heart but with the heart, it can change. The coffee beans that change the hot water taste giving its presence in the water and releasing the aroma, but the coffee itself lost its character by melting down in water with pain.
When the problems keep on falling to you one after another that is the time you have to show that you are capable of facing each problem with your inner strength.

Controlling temper and maintaining hard work in life:

Controlling temper and maintaining hard work in life

There are times when you feel like leaving everything and not working for anything. Well, honestly, you have to take some while off from work in order to keep your mind and soul in the place, but taking a complete break from your dreams is something you have to avoid at any cost. Here is one such motivational story and you can go through it hopefully it will give you motivation:
There was a time back in early nineteenth when there was a boy who was talented, handsome and smart. But at the same time, he was quite selfish and temper was difficult that everyone wanted to move away from him and not make his friends. At times he will get angry and use harsh words that would hurt people around him.
Everyone from the family was extremely concerned about the bad temper he was having. They considered doing many different things and then the father of this boy came up with an idea. He asked his family to call the son and gave him a bag of nails and a hammer. He said, “Every time you get angry, you take a nail and drive it into the old fence as hard as you can”.
The hammer was very heavy and the fence was tough, nevertheless, this boy was furious on his first day he drove 37 nails through the fence.
Days passed and the number of nails on the fence gradually decreased. After some time this boy started to that it is easier to take hold on the temper than driving the nails into the fence.
One day the boy didn’t need the nail and hammer anymore as he learned to have held on his temper perfectly. He told this to his father and in return, his father asked him to pull out one nail on days when he was able to hold his temper throughout the day. With this, the days passed each time the nails were going off the fence and he gained control over his temper. His father appreciated him each time and told him a fact he learned from the life he asked him to focus on the holes that have been left from the nails. The fence will never be able to return back to its initial form the same happens when we use harsh words for anyone, whether it is a person we love or someone we have known for a while we can never take back the words we have said. They leave a scar just like the nail left a scar in the fence. It is always important to treat a person with respect irrespective of the mood we are having at that situation everyone is able to achieve something or the other in their lives and in thought of paying their achievements some respect we should always think before uttering something even if we feel that it is okay to joke about a person’s specifics but for the truth to be told something that seems good to you might not be fine for the other person.

Fall down seven gets up Eight

Adapting Japanese proverb “Fall down seven gets up Eight” to life:
There are questions that almost every one of us has asked once or even more than this “How to leave the laziness”
Well, to put forward here laziness is not just a word it’s more than a feeling that is there to stay with you until you make some affords to get rid of it. Nobody will be able to tell you how to move forward in life and the exact way to earn your life’s success story it is you who should be the one learning it in life and making efforts in the way. Let us justify this by an example:
There was a man from India who went to the UAE in hope of working hard and earning money. He was able to qualify for the job and he reached the airport where he was supposed to be picked up by his company’s co-worker but instead of his co-worker picking him up he was picked up by some other person who worked for a different agency. Before he could realize this he was dropped into the desert where he was asked to work as a camel caretaker. There was a man who was already working at the place and he taught him everything about taking care and feeding stuff.
Every day once people will come to collect the milk and they would bring the workers a can of water (they were given only one can for a day meaning they couldn’t take bath). He tried many times to tell them he is not the guy who was supposed to be working here but everyone ignored as they wanted a caretaker.
One day he tried to escape but was soon caught by his boss who then kicked him until he coughed blood this incident made him lose every bit of his hope and he continued to work as a caretaker.
Days passed and each day he would cry to sleep losing his hopes. Then this one day his fellow worker passed away due to dehydration but nobody came to take away his body. He would sleep with sheep and camel along with the body of his fellow worker.
He noticed that people would come from the north direction every time and one day when the people came to deliver the water and food he waited for them to go a little far from his place of stay. He started to run in the same direction and at a point, he saw someone coming from the same direction in order to not get caught again he walked in other direction that made him lose his way.
He was in the middle of dessert with no hope left in him but he gathered all that he had and walked for some while until he heard the noise of a vehicle. Somehow he managed to reach the road and was rescued by some people. Later he reached back home he could have left all the hopes and lived at that same place probably would have died at the same place but he fought against everything that was stopping him and reached his home.

Are religious people social misfits?

Are religious people social misfits?

There is a common belief among materialistic people that religious people are a social misfit. The people who are religious are unsocial, dogmatic and also lacking in intellectual insight. This is because they refuse to drink or smoke, prays before eating and also gets frowned at the free mixing of the two sexes and is superstitious, impractical and way behind the times. The way he behaves is quite different from the other social and materialistic people.
There is a common culture of mistreating and sometimes disrespecting such religious people because their ethics and values are out of the comprehension of the commons. It needs a lot many senses to behave and understand the depth of any religion. If for an instance any religious person achieves a prominent position somewhere then he is regarded as an abnormal and nuisance to those around him because he refuses to take bribes. In schools and colleges too if somebody used to wear any conspicuous religious marks on the forehead then the classmates used to take pride in insulting them. For them, these people are meant to be degraded. Sometimes this even leads to physical attacks too. Sadly occasionally, a religious person takes on the act of violence himself. Based on all the above cases whether the religious person stays quiet or speaks his heart out and sometimes taken as a social misfit.
However, the role of any religious person is not at all easy. He has to find paths which allow him to follow his beliefs in an environment who is constantly trying to degrade him. The mundane person in comparison is a social chameleon who incessantly changes his color to match his surroundings. In a second, he can turn from capitalist into a communist, friend into foe, Jekyll into Hyde.
Actually, the religious person somewhere knows that eventually, the whole world will start to think in the way he does. So he doesn’t lose his rigidity over the concepts. And also these people are really very positive from the inside. Their values make them refuse for many irrelevant kinds of stuff and this makes them stay secure and happy. All they do is they try to live their life for others. Whenever they love somebody they do it with all their effort. They never betray any person because for them loyalty also is the part of their character and many more things are good about valuable people. All those people who all wrong things like drinking, smoking etc for just setting themselves according to the social illusions of being cool. Speaking loud, speaking foul languages, drinking, smoking are the parameters for judging them cool. And for them, all those people who behave as religious are fools and are greater than their age. They are old by their thinking. But actually, the fact is not thus at all. These people see and live their life differently and ideally as well.
Let’s take instances of people who do meditation on their daily basis are the happier ones. They do it to make their mind and stealthily. And since most of the youth don’t care, they behave carefreely and indulged into smoking and drinking. Thus make them depressed and it becomes difficult for them to come out of it. And once they are cured they realize the value of all these religious things. The religious things are not every time illogical but of course are scientifically proven facts. Our routine and thinking seriously build us up in many ways.
The ever-expanding spectrum of human activities today is dazzling and impressive on one hand, and fragile and volatile on the other. A lopsided vertical growth leaves the individual with growing challenges, conflicts fears, miseries, doubts, and dissatisfactions.
But there are solutions and answers. They lie in our efforts to remove the sharp edges or lapses in our personal habits, social dealings, characters, and spiritual faith. Perspectives present a variety of issues and facts about life in an innovative style emphasizing horizontal growth. The humor, logic, and message in perspectives make reading delightful and empowering. It guides and also enlightens us on habits related to diet, time, environment, peace, culture, religion, happiness and other more areas of life. Perfection can never be achieved because it is just a perspective but this really makes our life either difficult or easy. The world is so beautiful to live in. Then why to differentiate people based on their thinking and religion. These all things are not worth. Every moment of life should be enjoyed and lived with a full heart.

Mining

Mining

Mining is the process of digging of ground for the extraction of minerals in the form of ore. The ores are then converted into metals by the process of metallurgy which includes several other processes. But the over mining can be an issue of environmental degradation. The minerals are extracted basically for economical use. The coal is used for the fuel in thermal power plants. The others are also done for economic benefits.
But since we are so much directed towards benefits that we forget how much the excess mining is harming the environment and ultimately we are on the side of loss. Various problems of over mining include
• Deforestation
Since for more and more mining land is required and obviously using the land in metropolitan is not an option. Then ultimately for fulfilling the need if mining areas forest cover is getting reduced and also in most of the cases the land piece after mining also turns barren and cannot be used for cultivation as well. But since the mineral requirement is also necessary then this problem is neglected.
• Groundwater pollution
The mining pollutes groundwater because the ores get mixed with the groundwater and pollute it making it unfit for drinking. The water then gets so polluted sometimes causing different diseases which may become really difficult to cope up.
• Surface water pollution
The runoff from the agricultural land pollutes the waterbodies too. The mining not only harms the groundwater but also the surface water and aquatic life. The whole ecosystem gets disturbed by these activities.
• Acid Mine Drainage
Certain chemicals are harmless when present underground. But due to mine process, these minerals are present on the soil layer in the form of patches. When it rains the chemicals get harmful and gets mixed with the waterbodies affecting aquatic life and human life too. These problems are not so minor to be neglected rather it plays real havoc with nature.
• Land Subsidence
Because of over mining there arises a vacancy between two layers of soil. This, in turn, causes land subsidence and a collapse of building and roads takes place. This cause many road accidents and loss to human life and property.
• Dislocation of people
Just because the mining area is required people are asked to migrate from their native place to different places. The case study of Malguri Hills by Vedanta Complex is a perfect example for this as they asked native people to migrate from there and they did not even provide them proper places to live.
• Stress upon renewable resources
Because the miners also live at the site until mining is completed. Tus this causes natural stress over renewable resources.
• Occupational Hazards
Not only it suffers other people out there but also the people in occupation gets caught with many diseases like black lung cancer from coal mining, asbestosis from Asbestos mining and silicosis from silica mining.
Despite the occupational hazards, there are many real-life occurrences like in Chile mining case and the most recent in the country is Meghalaya Miners Case. These occurrences cause people to suffer. Accidentally the mine got closed and it caused miners to get trapped over there. Their survival was really hard under the ground. Moreover, the mine was too deep and the water was there inside therefore the rescue operation became very much difficult and people had to suffer.
The problem is that way to encourage excess mining if it is causing us to lose this much? Everything in a limit has advantages but when it gets excessive it starts to deteriorate the existing quality too. Though coal is a necessity today for the fuel requirement in power plants. But we need to reduce the need. We have to bring different plants based on renewable resources. We cannot rely on exhaustible resources every time. We should bring in the concept of solar energy, wind energy, and other renewable resources. This would also help in increasing the economy of the nation. Infect the forest area and great cultivation will also be encouraged. The environment is ours and until we ourselves do not take steps to preserve it.
For green, the healthy and serene environment it is necessary to eliminate the factors which are exploiting the ecosystem else after few decades there would be no life on the planet earth. The earth would change into mining land. So, it’s better to take a step forward in order to save the earth before its too late.
